Well, I really took the blogging thing and ran with it, didn't I? Joking...
I'm going to give it another shot. Instead of thinking I can plan this blog before I know what it's all about, but I'm just going to try to let it evolve.
In a week I'll be taking a trip to New York City with a good friend. We haven't made many plans but I've been reading A LOT about things to do and where to go. We're also staying at a fun hotel in Midtown that is sure to bring some entertainment to the mix (insert cliffhanger here). I haven't been to the Big Apple since I met my dad and brother there for a quick weekend nearly ten years ago. Even though I'd been a few other times as child- we went to meet relatives and to see the Statue of Liberty on a day trip my grandma's home in New Jersey- I still feel like I've never gotten the full experience. Right now, a long weekend of hanging out with my oldest friend, eating good food, and generally exploring this great city is exactly what I need.
After NYC, I'm flying to Minnesota to spend some quality time with friends and family. In the years I've spent living in other places, I've always struggled to describe my home state. Landlocked? Corn fields? Cold? Lakes? For a long time it was just a place I couldn't wait to leave. But it's also a land of amazing natural beauty, interesting history, and hardy, kind people with a wry sense of humor. Check back to see and hear more about the place I called home for my first eighteen years.
