The state of the Wind-Lass

Last week, with a few days off for the Independence Day holiday combined with a few days of vacation time, I packed my bags for a whirlwind trip to the Lower 48 in order to see family and attend to the Wind-Lass.

Springing back North...

A few weeks ago the time arrived to take Wind-Lass back to the North Carolina boatyard from her temporary home at the Charleston marina where we got married last fall. Even though we'd rather have our boat in the water than on the hard, for now it just makes the most sense.

It helped to know that we could go back to the great spot we were at the year before.

Celebrating the day of enough daylight

Well, hello friends! I'm breaking my blog hibernation with the announcement that today is the first day sunrise and sunset will again coincide with the start and end of my work day- 7:22 a.m. and 5:02 p.m. respectively. So hooray (!), I can finally see the light- at least when I get home from the office, that is. Which basically means, things are only looking up from here until mid-October (when again, the lack of daylight will probably make me think it's time to hibernate or take a vacation).
